Meet Dave! Dave studies at the University of Otago in New Zealand. He’s currently working for his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, but is also using StudyBlue to try to learn Spanish. Read on to see how David uses StudyBlue:
Why do you study?
Interest in what I’m learning, my competitive nature not wanting to get beaten, because I have to in order to pass my exams! To get into an exciting line of work that will provide me with countless possibilities in the future.
What is your favorite feature on StudyBlue?
I love the fact that you can be in a ‘class group’ so that when my classmates make a series of flashcards I can also use them, learn from them and see what others are focusing their studies on.
How do you incorporate StudyBlue into your daily/weekly routine?
Depends on the time of the year. My use seems to rise exponentially towards the end of semesters where it will then be the first and last thing I use to study each day, usually whilst lying in bed.
Do you have any advice or tips for students on how to use StudyBlue?
Get classmates to make flashcards. This will give you the opportunity to test yourself from a slightly different point of view and will help to keep the process of studying flashcards interesting. I found this resource particularly useful for learning basic endocrine principals.
Any advice for students on how to prepare for midterms/finals?
1. Don’t let yourself get too far behind during the year.
2. Do things that get your heart rate up – it supplies oxygen to the brain and is good for de-stressing.
Thanks Dave, for taking some time to talk with us and for such great advice! We heart our students! If you’re interested in becoming part of “Studious,” please email jennifer (at) studyblue (dot) com.
