Studious: Allie, Chatswood High School, Australia

StudyBlue’s going international! Meet Allie; she’s a student at Chatswood High School in Australia. In college, she hopes to study psychology. Read more on how Allie likes to use StudyBlue for school, especially with her friends!

What is your favorite feature on StudyBlue & why do you love it?
My favorite feature is the iPhone app. I use it all the time: on the train, walking to exams. I love that it automatically uploads all my new flashcards and folders, that it is functional and most importantly, free!

How do you incorporate StudyBlue into your daily/weekly routine?
Generally, I’ll write out my study notes and then copy them into assorted folders on StudyBlue. Then I’ll use the flashcards to try and memorise definitions and concepts.

Do you have any advice or tips for students on how to use StudyBlue? Specifically for your major?
StudyBlue parties! It may sound really nerdy, but getting a few friends together and studying is entertaining and keeps you motivated. It’s great comparing notes but also trying to get a higher correct percentage than each other.

Do you have any advice for students on how to prepare for exams?
Preparing for exams is different for everyone but using different formats, colors and programs really helps. I don’t like writing, so I’ll type my notes out on StudyBlue and then reread them to myself. Using the review sheet first and then alternating between flashcards and the quiz option really make sure you know your stuff back to front.

What is your favorite StudyBlue flashcard deck?
My business studies flashcard deck is one of my favorites to study from.

What is your favorite website or blog to visit during a study break?
I’m obsessed with stalking celebs on Twitter!

Why do you study?
I study mainly for the good feeling I get when my grades come back. Putting in the effort to study pays off and nothing feels better than when you know you did your best and got the grade you deserved.

Thanks Allie for taking some time to talk with StudyBlue and for the great advice! We heart our students! If you’re interested in becoming part of “Studious,” please email molly (at) studyblue (dot) com.
