Studious: Esther – Colorado Christian University

Meet Esther! She is currently studying Worship Arts at Colorado Christian University. Esther says StudyBlue has made college a much easier, smoother experience because she can study her flashcards anywhere and on-the-go. Read more to see why Esther loves StudyBlue!

What is your favorite feature on StudyBlue & why do you love it?
My favorite feature is definitely the iOS app. Having all of my flashcards with me while I’m walking around campus and to and from classes helps me get every second of studying I can!

How do you incorporate StudyBlue into your daily/weekly routine?
Every night before I go to bed, I study on my iPod touch for whatever classes I have quizzes or tests in the next day. When I walk between classes, I work on flashcards for the class I’m heading to, and every weekend I make new flashcards for the upcoming week. StudyBlue is practically my life whenever I have free time.

Do you have any advice or tips for students on how to use StudyBlue? Specifically for your major?
Try out EVERYTHING. There are so many cool features like lists, text color changing, and font size that you won’t know how to do unless you try it. The first time I used StudyBlue, I explored and figured out what I could do before I ever started making flashcards. I highly recommend doing that!

Do you have any advice for students on how to prepare for exams?
Flashcards saved my life anytime I had a test coming up. What worked best for me was to write everything down on paper in class, then type up my notes in flashcard format so that I had to write it twice. This helped keep the information in my head longer.

What’s your favorite flashcard deck to study from?
This flashcard deck was one for my Mid-term exam.

Why do you study? What drives or motivates you to study?
I love getting good grades. Not only does it help my self-confidence, it helps me keep my academic scholarships as well. If I keep a high GPA, I get even more scholarships next year, and making the Dean’s List looks great on a resume for whatever jobs I apply for.

Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
StudyBlue has literally changed my life. At school, I don’t have to worry about how I’m going to study or if I’ll accidently look at the answers on my homemade flashcards. I love how I can keep track of how I do on flashcards and get a rough estimate on how well I will do on a quiz or test if I took it right then. Without a doubt, StudyBlue has made my college career run so much smoother than it ever did before I discovered it!

Thanks Esther for taking some time to talk with StudyBlue and for the great advice! We heart our students! If you’re interested in becoming part of “Studious,” please email molly (at) studyblue (dot) com.
