The Most Popular Study App Makes Going Back to School More Efficient, Collaborative and Affordable
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired – Aug 11, 2014) – StudyBlue, the leading collaborative learning app, is announcing brand new app functionality and design to help students and lifelong learners study smarter and faster than ever before. The redesign and expanded premium offering were created with the input of nearly 6 million StudyBlue users who rely on the app to study more effectively with the most relevant study material at their fingertips. StudyBlue offers learners the largest and fastest-growing library of shared content, with a rich database of more than 250 million user-generated digital notecards covering every topic from Portuguese to Psychology to Pilates.
“I launched StudyBlue out of my dorm room nine years ago with a vision to build a crowdsourced studying platform for students by students,” said Chris Klundt, Founder and CEO of StudyBlue. “That mission hasn’t changed, it’s only become bolder. We’re now a crucial studying resource for 1 in 5 college students in the US. The new StudyBlue will serve our users better than ever before and allow us to continue offering the best studying tools to learners for years to come.”
The new StudyBlue will help students and learners of all ages discover and learn personalized study materials with greater ease and speed. In addition to a sleek and intuitive design, the website offers new features, including:
- Flexible Layout – Decide how you want to review material with new grid or list layouts for your digital cards.
- Simple Search – Filter the library by textbook and author to discover specific study material or information faster.
- Lifelong Learning – Identify yourself as a “Lifelong Learner” for the growing number of people who seek the best tools for learning outside of the classroom or to prepare for standardized tests like the GREs or LSATs.
- More Content Categories – Easily find and organize material with the new ‘interests’ option and be notified of relevant content related to your career, hobby and other special interests.
Users can now explore the new StudyBlue design across their Web, iOS and Android devices and share feedback, with the option to switch to the classic design until the official launch on September 1st.
Expanded Premium Offering
StudyBlue’s library of more than 250 million digital notecards is growing exponentially, allowing learners of all ages to find content shared by classmates and other users with similar interests, learning levels and study habits.
As part of the new design, the option to pull existing content from the curated library (which includes groupings of digital notecards, lecture outlines and crowdsourced study guides) will be part of the StudyBlue PRO offering. In addition to unlimited access to the StudyBlue library of curated study materials, StudyBlue PRO will continue to offer exclusive features such as audio, images, text formatting and equations.
The new StudyBlue will still offer the study tools students love at no cost, including card creation with suggested definitions, review mode, personalized quizzes and progress tracking.
To best meet students’ different learning needs and study habits, StudyBlue is introducing a third payment option for the PRO package on September 1st: $24/3 months, in addition to the existing $9/month and $48/year packages. New users who opt to try the new design will get to experience StudyBlue PRO for free until August 31st.
