Death rate
The number of deaths occurring in a give year per 1,00 people
Demographic Transformation
The relation of an economic state of a country to its birth rates and death rates
Demographic Transformation (stages)
Stage I - High birth, High death, no population growth
Stage II - High birthrate, low Death rate (developing countries)
Stage III - Medium birthrate, Low death rate (middle countries)
Stage IV - Tied Birth and Death rate (U.S. Chine Developed countries.)
Industrial Revolution
Period of rapid technology change that began in england in the mid 18th century
Neo-Malthusian
Population growth will occur so rapidly that there will not be enough food for the population
- Demand/population will be higher then production capacity
- 3 stages, stage II and III when demand is more than production
Malthusian theory
Theory that this will happen
- A it will happen
- B if we change, use birth control, we can save us
Population distribution
- the placement or arrangement of people within a region
Technocratic theory
Replacing politicians with scientists so we can find ways to bring the production value higher than the population

Traditional society stage - Agriculture
Transitional stage - has possibility to grow, but hasnt yet
Take off stage - industrialization has begun, poverty happens
Drive to maturity stage - Growth, poverty goes down
High mass consumption stage - Great producivity
