bilineal descent

kinship system in which a child is reconized as being related by decent to both parents

cross cousin

offspring of either ones fathers sister or ones mothers brother

kinship principle that traces relationships through parent child links

the transfer of cash and goods from the brides family to the newly married couple

endogamy
