One equal voice ( whether rich or poor) No unequal distribution of resources What is Political Liberty? Freedom two act political without fear of coercion. Freedom of Speech What is Popular Soveriegnty? The people rule. Widespread participation Majority rules ( democratic outcome) Expect the government to do what the people want it to do How do the people make decisions? People must have high quality information in order to make informed decisions. *Our democracy has checks and balances but this is not a requirement of democracy. Democracy is in parliament, this is one body making decisions. *Does the government really do what we want them to do?
