A point is an exact location. A point has no size. A point is named with a capital letter.
A plane is a flat surface that extends without end in all directions. A plane has no depth.
Ray
A line that starts at one point but is infinity going the other way
Line segment
A line that is a certain length and has end points on either side.
Angle
A figure that is formed by two rays diverging from a common point
Acute angle
An angle measuring below 90 degrees.
Obtuse angle
An angle that measures below 180 degrees but more than 90 degrees.
Right angle
An angle that measures exactly at 90 degrees.
Straight angle
An angle that measures exactly at 180 degrees.
Reflect angle
An angle that measures 181 degrees to 359 degrees.
Vertical angle
Vertical angles are made by when two lines intersect.Vertical angles are congruent.
Adjacent angles are made when a line and ray intersect. Adjacent angles have a common side and vertex.
Complementary angle
If the sum of the measures of two angles equals 90 degrees the angles are complementary.
Supplementary angle
If the sum of the measures of two angles equal 180 degrees they are supplementary.
The common or middle point
Line
A thing that goes infinity both ways.
Skew lines
Do not intersect or is parallel these lines are not in the same plane.
Quadrilateral
4 sided polygon
Parallelogram
Polygon that has parallel
Polygon
Many sided figure.
Triangle
3 sided figure. Comes in scalene, isosceles, and equilateral.
Rotation
To rotate
Trapezoid
A plane that two sides are parallel and two are not.
Translation
Moving the shape.
Reflection
A flipped image of the original.
Congruent
Same shape and size.
Line of symmetry
The line that flips the original image.
