Atlanta's father exposes her to the wilderness, leaving her there. She's raised by a mother bear. becomes virgin follower of Artemis. hunters find her, her dad takes her back and wants to marry her off. She agrees only to go with the person who could outrun her in a footrace. Milanion wins.
How does Milanion beat Atalanta
he prays to Aphrodite. She gives him 3 golden apples. He drops one each time she gets close to him. She stops to pick them up.
What happens to Atalanta and Milanion
Atalanta eventually goes back to the wild with Milanion who has been turned into a lion
What happens when Anaxarete discovers Iphis?
Iphis, a rich girl, catches the eye of a shepherd, Anaxarete. He asks her to marry him, she says no. He hangs himself on her doorstep one day. She doesn't care/isn't affected. Aphrodite curses her for acting so, and she turns into stone.
What happens in the story of Philemon and Baucis?
Zeus and Hermes come to find someone who truly honors the Guest-Host relationship. Doesn't find anyone. come upon Philemon and Baucis. They let them in and even slaughter their most prized goose for them.
What happens after Zeus and Hermes reveal themselves?
told to climb to the highest hill around. When they do so, the world is flooded. They are the only survivors. A temple was in the place of their home. ask to become Priest/Priestess of the temple. When they die, they are turned into twin trees to be with each other forever

falls in love with brother. writes him a note instead of talking to him. he runs off. she falls love sick and dies. she is turned into a spring
What happens in the story of Thisbe and Pyramus?
aren't allowed to talk to each other (different families). talk to each other through a crack in the wall. decide to meet by mulberry tree outside town. Thisbe goes first to wait for him. Lion comes out of trees bloody after kill.
What happens after Lion emerges from the trees (Thisbe and Pyramus)?
Thisbe drops her cloak. Lion mauls the cloak and gets blood on it. Pyramus comes along, sees the cloak, blood, and lion heading back into trees. he commits suicide. Thisbe comes back too late, kills herself to be with him
