Chromosomes condense into visible threads called chromatids joined at the centromere. Centrioles move to opposite ends of the cell. Nuclear envelope dissapears.

Chromatids line up along the cell equator. "metaphysical plate". Fibers are attached to kinetichores.

Chromatids separate and each chromatid is referred to as a chromosome. chromatids with help from spindle fibers move toward ends of cell.

Begins when chromatids have reached the poses of the cell. Migration is completed and chromosomes unravel to form less distinct chromatin threads.
