Task motivated leadership

focuses on the task at hand. Not as much about the people in the group.

Relationship motivated

makes sure the group is happy and effective through their relationships

Hersey and Blanchard

about maturity (job and psychological). Low maturity=task moderate maturity= relationship high maturity=neither

Job maturity

you know what to do and how to do it

Psychological maturity

you have a good idea of who you are and your abilities

Path-goal theory

focuses on creating a path towards achieving the goals that takes into account characteristics of the followers and environmental factors( tasks, authority system and primary work group support level)

Substitutes for leadership

: various things that can be done to have a leadership type effect without actual ?leadership? being present.

Charismatic leader

leads by inciting enthusiasm and excitement by being convincing and dominant. Usually draws others to them in order to have the followers follow.

Transformational leader

: tries to make the individual grow by helping the company

Transactional leader

gives stuff/takes stuff in exchange for cooperation

Level 5 leadership

combination of determination and humility that leads to a greatness and change.

Authentic leadership

true to values and teachings by following them themselves

Pseudotransformational leader

fake. Let self interest take center stage over interests of the group/followers

Sevant-leader

leads by helping others needs with the best interest of the company in mind

Bridge leaders

go abroad and take what they learned back to the company to help them with culture issues

Shared leadership

when group members rotate formal leadership based on the individual members strengths.

Lateral leader

same level of the hierarchy that lead together through collabration
