Boccaccio's Decameron is a frame story of rich young nobles telling each other stories to pass the time while hiding from the plague.
Consisted of 100 stories – each person contributed 10 stories
Significance – Helps us to understand what values are important in Medieval Europe.
Morality Play – allegorical depictions of the spiritual trials of the average man; good deeds follow men into the afterlife
-educational guilds or corporations that produced educated and trained individuals; usually rested primarily with the clergy, especially the monks
