Dear Parent/Guardian, Your child has been enrolled in Pre-AP Physics and I will be his/her teacher. I am writing to introduce myself and to encourage you to contact me at any time, should you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's progress in my class. Our class code is 253405. Also, please take note of the following: 1. Attached is a copy of the course syllabus, which lists the expectations for my students and describes how they will be evaluated. Please review this document, as it is absolutely essential that you, as their parents/guardians, participate in their education! 2. I will be available everyday there is an after-school session (exceptions to this may include weekly faculty meetings/department meetings). In this case, students will be advised if/when I would not be available for extra assistance. In any event, your son/daughter should feel free to see any of the other physics teachers, as they will be glad to help them in any way possible- we all cover the same material, just that we may present it in different styles. 3. Your child will receive a progress report from the district approximately every 3 weeks. In addition, I will be giving students a copy of their class progress report, listing all of the assignments given during that marking period. Please note that you may access your child's grades via the school district grade book website: https://hisd.gradebook.net/Pinnacle/PIV/Logon.aspx 4. Before your child can participate in laboratory sessions, you and your child must review, sign and return the ?Student Safety Contract?.
