3 Prenatal Assessment Techniques
1) ultrasound - monitor fetal growth, movement, position and sex-linked disorders
2) amniocentesis - sample of amniotic fluid detects chromosomal disorders and genetic/multifactorial defects ( women 35+ and known carriers of disorders)
3) chorionic villus sampling - sample of chorionic villi that detects birth defects and disorders ( between 10 and 12 weeks)
