Space

Set of all points.

Locus

Set of points that satisfy a particular condition. Ex. Points on a triangle.

Line Segment

Part of a line consisting of 2 endpoints and all the points between them.

Congruent Segments

Segments that have equal measure.

Precision

The precision of any measurement depends on the smallest unit available on the measuring tool.

Absolute Error

The absolute value of the difference between the actual measurement of an object and the allowable measure.

Pythagorean Theorem

In a right triangle the measures of the squares of the legs equals the measure of the square of the hypotenuse.

Midpoint

The point on a segment that divides the segment into 2 equal segments.

Segment Bisector

A segment, line, or plane that intersects a segment at it's midpoint.

Ray

part of a line with one endpoint that extends infinitely far in one direction.

Opposite Rays

Collinear rays with a common endpoint that go in opposite directions.

Angle

Union of two rays with a common endpoint.

Sides

Two rays

Vertex

A common endpoint

Right angle

An angle whose measure is 90

Acute Angle

An angle whose measure is between 0 and 90.

Obtuse Angle

An angle whose measure in between 90 and 180.

Straight Angle

An angle whose measure is 180.

An angle formed by 2 opposite rays.

Congruent Angles

Angles that have equal measure.

Angle Bisector

A ray that divides an angle into 2 congruent angles.
