Strengthens, definately. It brings more publicity to the cause and it makes the company more well known. It also depends on the association the star has with the cause, if they have the disease themselves, or if they just want it to be an issue like dog farms or becoming a vegetarian. The celebrity has to convince the public that they PERSONALLY care and want to bring global attention to it.
