All micrometers measure 0 to 1 inch.
Frame size is changed for larger measurements
Depth micrometers are reversed (from 1 inch to 0).
If using inside spacer sleeve, add .5" to any reading
Vernier and Dial Height Gages
Used to place precision scribe marks on the workpiece
Lay out marks are made by attaching a scriber to the height gage.
When gage blocks are assembled into a stack in order to make up a required dimension
