Sternoclavicular Joint: Characteristics
Frontal plane = convex on concave
Transverse plane = concave on convex (due to articular disc)
SC Joint: Elevation/depression
Elevation = inferior glide (+ superior roll) (++posterior spin)
Depression = superior glide (+inferior roll) (++anterior spin)
SC Joint: Protraction/Retraction
Protraction = anterior glide (+anterior roll)
Retraction = posterior glide (+posterior roll)
Anterior Rotation = anterior spin (occurs with depression)
Posterior Rotation = posterior spin (occurs with elevation)
Acromioclavicular Joint: Characteristics
Plane joint that acts like concave on convex because acromion surface is concave relative to convex clavicle.
Think of scapula moving on clavicle.
Elevation = superior glide (+superior roll)
Depression = inferior glide (+inferior roll)
