Wrote Prince after being banned from france durring the Renaissance. Prince was like a guide to future dictators, which presented the first ideas of separating religion from government.
They were a new Protestant group. They believed in the practice of baptism, and they only admitted adults. That way, a person can choose if they want to become Christian. They refused to take part in society because it was sinful.

Set out on his voyage in 1519 to find a western route to Asia. He left with 5 ships, and 260 men. They sailed across the Atlantic to the eastern coast of South America. He found and named the Pacific Ocean. He then landed in the Philippines, where he was killed but some of his crew escaped. They returned in 1522 with 1 ship and 18 men. Magellan was the first man to curcumnavigate--meaning to travel around the world.
The Spanish Conquistador landed in Mexico in 1519 to find a western route to Asia. He left with 5 ships and 260 men. With help his guide Malinche, Cortes made his way into the Aztec capital, Tenochitlan. He captured Montezuma II and killed him. Cortes later crushed the resistance and conquered Mexico. Even though he was outnumbered, the weapons they carried were more advanced than the Aztec's weapons.
They set up a new dynasty called Qing, the word for pure. They were also foreigners who ruled China and also extened their kingdom to the North and West, conquering Manchuria, Tibet and Mongolia.
He was an early Ottoman ruler who strengthened Muslim forces prior to the Battle of Lepanto. He was the Sultan and the Caliph. He created a bureaucracy in the Ottoman Empire to rule more efficiently. THey were known as the Ulema. He created laws such a religious toleration for people others than Muslims and allowed the people to choose their government representatives.
He was the man who took over the throne from Hideyoshi in 1598. He fully unified Japan at the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600. He then became the shogun in 1603. ONce in power, Tokugawa reassigned the daimyos' lands. For loyalty, he made each daimyo travel to Edo, the location of his fortress, every other tear. They had to get permission from the shogun to marry and repair or build castles.
Phillip II of Spain
Phillip the second was the most powerful monarch in Spanish history, he was pious and believed he had to spread Catholicism. He was a major enemy to the Protestants because of how hard he tried to keep them down. He was the Son of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V and Isabella of Portugal. He was a hardworking king who was very cautious of others. He eventually diminished Spain’s power after sending an armada after Britain and lost a lot of money and men because of it. Philip II ruled from 156 to 1598 and had problems ruling the Spanish Empire because of his Protestant opposition and the large Empire with an unorganized government.

Believed in constitutional monarchies and that the kings power should be limited. Also made the concept of life, liberty, and property which made a huge contribution to the Declaration of Independence.
Want to reform the church of England (now the Anglican church). Very conservative: thought that there should be no distractions from the worshipping of God. Wore very drab, all black and white clothing that showed very little skin. No music, art or creative expression.
Supporters of the extreme radicals within the French Revolution. Leaders within this group were Robespierre, Dantan, and Marat. They viewed themselves as the protecters of the revolution and voice of the people.
Prince Clemens Von Metternich
Austria’s chief minister. He wanted Europe to be the way it has been all along before the French Revolution and wanted to guide Vienna through 3 main ideas; the balance of power, legitimacy, and compensation. All costs must be paid back after fighting with the French, only royal families should rule, and not one country can rule over all of Europe.
He was an industrial leader who supported Laissez-faire capitalism. He wrote The Wealth of Nations in 1776 which says that individual sellers and buyers act on self-interest which led to the common good.
