A garden path sentence is a grammatically correct sentence that starts in such a way that a reader's most likely interpretation will be an incorrect one; one that will lure him into an improper parse that turns out to be a dead end. The old man the boat. The man, who is old... The boat is manned by the old people. Old people man the boat.
noun phrase+verb phrase
1. Something is grouped together by a "hierarchical structure". Every "phrase" is a constituent. 2. We know what is a phrase is because of the "head" if its a noun phrase it is headed by a noun. If it is a verb phrase it is headed by a verb.
